Residential Support Worker 
 Location: Wolverhampton, West Midlands
Salary: £26,520 – £27,872 per year, plus £50 per sleep-in
Full-time | Permanent

Are you a confident Residential Support Worker who can remain calm, consistent and supportive when working with challenging behaviour?

We’re recruiting for a Residential Support Worker to join a solo EBD children’s home in Wolverhampton. This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference to one young person, working closely with the team to understand behaviours, identify triggers and develop consistent, therapeutic approaches.
The Role As a Residential Support Worker, you will:

  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with the young person
  • Provide safe, consistent and therapeutic care
  • Understand behaviours, triggers and underlying factors
  • Help develop strategies to reduce challenging behaviour
  • Support daily routines, education, activities and appointments
  • Complete key-work sessions and accurate care records
  • Promote independence and positive outcomes

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children and young people with EBD or challenging behaviour
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare preferred
  • Full UK driving licence
  • A calm, resilient and consistent approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Salary

  • Unqualified: £12.75 per hour – £26,520 per year, excluding sleep-ins
  • Qualified: £13.40 per hour – £27,872 per year, excluding sleep-ins
  • Sleep-ins: £50 each
