Residential Support Worker
Location: Wolverhampton, West Midlands
Salary: £26,520 – £27,872 per year, plus £50 per sleep-in
Full-time | Permanent
Are you a confident Residential Support Worker who can remain calm, consistent and supportive when working with challenging behaviour?
We’re recruiting for a Residential Support Worker to join a solo EBD children’s home in Wolverhampton. This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference to one young person, working closely with the team to understand behaviours, identify triggers and develop consistent, therapeutic approaches.
The Role As a Residential Support Worker, you will:
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the young person
- Provide safe, consistent and therapeutic care
- Understand behaviours, triggers and underlying factors
- Help develop strategies to reduce challenging behaviour
- Support daily routines, education, activities and appointments
- Complete key-work sessions and accurate care records
- Promote independence and positive outcomes
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD or challenging behaviour
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare preferred
- Full UK driving licence
- A calm, resilient and consistent approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Salary
- Unqualified: £12.75 per hour – £26,520 per year, excluding sleep-ins
- Qualified: £13.40 per hour – £27,872 per year, excluding sleep-ins
- Sleep-ins: £50 each
